I think these pictures tell the story of our picnic at Fort Fisher quite adequately. We drove through The Tides on our way home.

Thank you for finding time in your busy life, Tom, to post these great photos. I suspect (just a whimsical thought) that the photos of y'all at the beach today and our lot are to make me want to retire asap? Well, it's a good try and there are definitely days when all I'd need is a nudge.
On the other hand, with Obama in the WH and Dems in charge on the Hill (oh, yeah), I've a few personal & professional goals to meet before I can give up my job and melt into the beautiful NC sunsets.
I have set the date, sort of. Isn't that progress????
Love ya,
Mom
Tom--you have a talent. I hope that Headquarters England has access. Every time I see your home country photos, I feel at home. I think it's because so many children books are evocative of the English scenes: old quaint buildings, stone walls and hedgerows and all the other scenes in children books, read when growing up and with our children, makes your pictures already familiar to the American eye!
Great work!
Peter
I love the pictures! Thanks for sharing, it's been too long since we've seen them!
